Posted on 14 May 2013 at 16:21:31 GMT This came up last night, can I just confirm... Infantry upgrades are in addition to their current factors except in the case of Smart Missiles. Ie they add to their base weapon rather than replace it. So Regular Marine Corps infantry fire at 4/30 Give them a rocket launcher upgrade and they gain a 2/100H that is subsumed into their attack. So if shooting at an enemy infantry stand 25cm away they'd get 6 dice plus 1 for the rocket launsher under half range for 7 dice. Kraytonian Ketzali (cheap rubbish) at 2/30 get a heavy laser upgrade (2/60) so now if shooting enemy at 25cm get 4 dice, plus 1 for laser under half range for 5 dice. A) The above is incorrect - they are seperate weapons, you have both but you chose to fire one of them. B) The above is incorrect - the upgrade replaces the original weapon and only the upgrade may be used. C) The above is correct and they are combined allowing you to fire both if in range. .....C)i) As a follow on, if option C) applies, I assume you roll seperate dice if the upgrade (or indeed original factors) are special, such as HVP for the Kraytonian Laser above, and affect the saving throw in any way? I had thought A) applied but it was argued C) applied owing to a prior response here, but I can't find that. |
