More questions from the latest game.

As I understand it 2 recce units in the same location (ish)may not both add +1 to the same nearest commander.

1) Is this correct?

2) Can they however communicate different actions to the same commander?

For example, my Kurall Kraytonian recce unit is also transporting a Kamalei Scout foot recce unit. If neither move can one attempt to add +1 and the other spot for calling in an artillery strike?

That is quite an advantage to armies where fao and fac functions are undertaken by CO and HQ

Combined with everything else I am going to have to get me a kray army

Trouble is I just don't know what colour to paint it

No more an advantage from having a FAO/FAC as discrete units, surely? They're command units so you can "recce them up" just as well as an HQ...

It is when your CO is cv 10

Recce A gives +1 command roll
Recce B enables FAO function
Recce C enables FAC function

CO calls in artillery at CV 10 -1 for FAO +1 for Recce A = 10

Then CO calls in airstrike again at CV10

Then CO issues orders to ground troops at CV111

Those are nice odds vs an Fao or Fac with a cv of 8

Yeah, ok, that's some excellent synergy! I was thinking more of CWC where they use the FAC/FAO's CV at (usually) 8, not their own already amazing one Smile

Think my incoming Pac-Fed might get used as Krayts!

Shedman, purple and pink are taken for the Krays so a nice fuschia?

Don't forget steve pimped his Krays. On the normal CV9 then this is less of an issue.

Pimped commander are the future. Marine Corps FAO from CV 8 to 9 for a mere 45 points? Give him 2 rece units to get a +1 and and to call in the strike.

If a Kray commander fails then the army is bereft of orders, seperate FAOs could still attempt to order.

In a recent TMP thread I opined that players vastly underestimate how much recce they should have to enable commanders to act.

This isn't the reserve of the Krays of course; cheap foot scouts can be used. The Krays advantage was having the foot recce transported by vehicle recce.

The other option to restrict this is to either ban commander upgrades or make the cost triple or quadruple.

I almost always buy two recce per 1000pts. It's too useful not to!

I don't often pimp commanders for good CV armies, but for not-Orks it's essential...
