We decided to create the Allein from the movies and see how they did.

We used the points calculator to check all these values

we gave the Alliens CA 6 move 20J 6 hits and a 6 save, and with no DF weapon and they are a swarm
we calculated this as

CA 6 20pts
Move 20J 15pts
Hits 6 save 6 20pts

so a total of 55pts

They have no DF weapon as they did not in the films but if you give then a DF 1 with range the cost is reduced to 30pts

What are peoples opinion on this ?

Personally, I would not go for Jump-Pack movement, this seems more like the movement of the Predator ('Aliens vrs Predator' ) to me.

I would substitute Amphibious (+5), Assault troops (+0) and Stubborn (+10) instead, giving a total of 60 points each.

You might want to consider an Acid Blood unit capability : inflict one extra attack against any unit which achieves a hit against the Alien in Close Assault. The target of an Acid Blood attack always counts as being in the open. Acid Blood hits count for Close Assault Outcome results. Acid Blood costs +15 points.

Better shoot them before they get in close.....Huh?

...better make that 65 points after a recount.

... and 80 points if you like the acid blood idea.

There is an Aliens list on the forum if you search for it. A fair bit of work has gone into it as I understand it.

Mine was a rough & ready attempt to use existing lists to 'fit' these - which worked fine, but nosher's variant is much more developed & betterer WinkSmile

Nik,

How do you properly pronounce the name of the capital of Louisiana, Nawlins or New Orleans?
