I'm having a bit of a brain blockage. Can someone clarify this for me:

Looking at page 6 of the rulebook it says that linear terrain blocks LOS unless the unit is Massive, and that LOS in, out or through Low Area Terrain is limited to 10cm for low profile units. Fair enough so far.

It then goes on to say in the #Aircraft & Grav# paragraph that LOS is not affected by linear or low area terrain which I take to mean that Aircraft and Grav vehicles can be seen without hinderance, even if behind/in low or linear terrain.

But what about low profile grav units such as the Eldritch Raptor IFV? Does this gain the benefits of linear and low area terrain because it has a low profile? If not, what is the point of having a low profile on this type of unit?

Many thanks,
Andy

My (2009) version of FWC has the Raptor IFV with 4 hits, but no low profile...but the same point is true for Grav infantry (e.g. Eldritch Harriers)...

I think they get no benefit from linear or low area terrain, but can use the 'concealed troops' benefits (p7) when in high area terrain, or use the ridge-line of high ground (p.6). After all, flying troops will be a lot more more visible than regular infantry using whatever cover is on the ground...but the Grav infantry will have good LOS for firing down into low area terrain.

Many thanks for your thoughts Big Walker.

Yes I got the Raptor thing wrong but as you say the question still applies to Grav infantry. Your explanation sounds reasonable.

Cheers, Andy.
