So, still in testing is Virtual Tabletop. If you want to play a game, or learn a game, or practice tactics, VT might be for you. We could use all the testers that can be found.

Its in the VT Alpha Announcements board. After registering, it should show the hidden categories. Smile

Well, I had a short look on this site. There is a map system mentioned called FlexMap. Can it be downloaded from this site, too? Or is it integrated in the virtual tabletop system? And where do I get those textures to make up a map?

FlexMap is freely available, but the VT version has an elevation feature that the regular version of FM doesn't have. If you want the garden variety of FlexMap you can get it bundled with Campaigner here:
http://www.racingspidergames.com/Campaigner_Sui...

Installing the 1.2.8.4 version should create a Flexmap Textures folder in your installation directory. These are the terrain textures you can use to make a map. There is also a youtube video that shows how to use FM to make a VT map. You can find that link in the forums over there as well.

My problem seems to be VISTA. Whatever feature the application tries to call up, f. e. the terrain features, ends up opening the documents folder Sad I already opened a thread in the forum...

Yes, you can but it is useless as you need a pass.

FlexMap works in the bundle, AND, Campaigner is now free. The key is located at the racingspidergames development blog
http://www.racingspidergames.com

Vista can be a pain in the butt, I'll agree, and in the finished version of VT (its in open alpha) it will look in the correct spot for textures and such. The problem you're having with it is on the To Do list and will be looked at on monday. Smile

Thanx for the hint with the unlock code, Racingspider. Yeah, Vista is sometimes a pain in the butt. I installed VT directly in the root directory (C:\Racingspider Games\...) and the application finds the right folders now.

And just one more stupid question: Where do I find the FlexMap component in Campaigner?

Well, if you installed or copied Campaigner, it is in the Campaigner folder, called FlexMap Builder.exe

THAT copy is different than the one that comes with the VT builds. If you want to make a map for Campaigner, use FlexMap builder that you find in the Campaigner folder.

If you want to make a map for VT, use the FlexMap Builder For VT.exe that you'll find in the most recently downloaded VT build.
Also note, that in the forum at racingspider games, there are links to YouTube videos that show you how to make a map for VT.

Further inquiries should be posted in the Racingspider Games' forum, so we don't clog this one up with how to's. Smile

VANILLA:
Link to vanilla FlexMap Builder (not specific to VT)

FM for VT:
The version of FlexMap for VT is in the latest VT build:
http://www.racingspidergames.com/VTDev/VTS_0_8_...

I just downloaded it and verified its in there.

I think IanS is talking about the Campaigner as there is no FlexMap in the folder...
