The first post of my blog, currently covering the modular table I'm working on.

I hope that works. Not sure how to put it as my front page.

Very nice. What is the board itself made of?

Thanks for the comments. They weren't particularly difficult to build, I think using nine different flocks is what brings out the visual appeal. The boards are foamboard, cheap and light (and two 33 by 23 inch boards for £5 at Hobbycraft the last few times I've been in). They warp terribly so seal bothsides with PVA, and then give the top layer an good undercoat. If you weigh them down both times, they'll keep their shape and be largely warp proof.

I saw those at my Hobbycraft and wondered about using them as boards, but the warping put me off.

Yes the many flocks helps as does the rolling terrain, like you say not difficult just needs some TLC.

Still superb though.

This looked so awesome, I've got my own on the workbench in the basement!

I'll begin my own thread when I get them respectable looking...

I am also working on a trick to prevent, or highly mitigate, the warping that is so common on these boards...I'll fiddle one together tonight, then, if my idea works, I'll document the next ones Smile
