The LIDL paste theme reminded me of my recent attempts(over last 3 shows I attended Derby, Leeds /Pudsey, and York) to look for "green stuff" (whatever that is - anyone enlighten me?) as an alternative to my two part epoxy putty, better known as Milliput, for the odd conversion / repair jobs I do. In the end I bought more Milliput at York.

Anyone tell me more about the qualities of "green stuff" compared to likes of Milliput and how to get it and likely costs? May also try my hand at some masters for things I cant find.....

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

The LIDL paste really is versatile and has three types-coarse,fine and light. Now reduced to 50p is worth a try if you can get all the other reduced items out of the way. I got the only four I could see but there was a pile of calendars and things on top of them so I will look for more later in the week and at other store. The Light paste was new for me so I tested it straight away and it has a nice rubbery texture, drying with an uneven finish too!

'Green Stuff' is Kneadatite by another name. Look on eBay, but skip all the guys who sell the way overpriced GW stuff.

I'm rather taken with GW's "Liquid Green Stuff", it's dead handy!

Bit pricey though, and I'd buy actual Kneadite rather than the branded GW stuff...

The LIDL coarse paste is dead good though, got a pot last time I was in.

For filling and repair jobs I still prefer to use Milliput rather than green-stuff/Kneadatite. Milliput sets harder and faster than green-stuff does. GS seems to be more popular for sculpting whole figures along with the less well known "Brown Stuff" which is apparently better for keeping sharper edges and detail (or so I have heard).
