Posted on 25 February 2014 at 17:09:37 GMT I am working putting together some buildings using some of the downloadable PDFs from Hawk. For last week's game we needed some scenery in a hurry so I slapped together some 2" and 3" tall buildings from corrugated cardboard and glued the detailed rooftops on top. I also mounted one of the actual building PDFs on a manila folder and will be assembling it later on. You can see the downloads here http://www.hawkwargames.com/blogs/downloadable-buildings. I will share some pics soon! |

Posted on 25 February 2014 at 21:58:37 GMT I bought their £30 cityscape and it's awesome, though the buildings get a little warped with the constant folding and unfolding before/after each game. Also use the buildings for classic games of Epic 40K. |

Posted on 05 March 2014 at 20:54:19 GMT I built the first papercraft building today: I printed the color template on copy paper, then glued it to a manila folder. I let it set under a stack of books to limit warping and bubbling. Once it was dry I cut it out and assembled it. Very easy and pretty good looking. I have glued it to a heavier cardboard base that will get painted and flocked. |

Posted on 06 March 2014 at 03:25:45 GMT I usually print paper buildings on heavy white card stock. Most printers are able to print on card stock that is as heavy as or heavier than manila folders. Saves the hassle of gluing paper and warping. Good looking building. |

Posted on 06 March 2014 at 08:31:18 GMT I've got the set from Hawk Games as well, or at least I did until my son purloined it! It works well with 15mm and 20mm figures! I'm rather hoping that one day they'll do the same thing in 6mm! |

Posted on 06 March 2014 at 14:35:37 GMT If I print the 10mm pdfs at 60% then that should give me 6mm. I keep meaning to buy some card, I just never get around to it! |

Posted on 06 March 2014 at 15:15:34 GMT I only had access to copy paper at the time, and this was a sort of test. I like it a lot and will be printing more on card stock at a commercial print shop soon. Flocking should be done later today so you can see the completed landscaping. |

Posted on 06 March 2014 at 15:18:13 GMT IIRC the reduction needs to be 36%. A 10x10mm square has an area of 100mm2. A 6x6mm square has an area of 36mm2. Copiers scale using area. |

Posted on 06 March 2014 at 18:56:46 GMT I am going to be heading off to get some cardstock versions printed shortly, and will experiment with scaling... Here is the completed building with it's finished base: The paved area on the left side is a "sidewalk cafe", I just might make some little tables with umbrellas... |

Posted on 07 March 2014 at 00:12:08 GMT You can't download them, but you can order them as kits. I've heard good things but haven't yet given them the old college try. http://paperterrain.com |

Posted on 07 March 2014 at 19:43:20 GMT Looks great. The detail seems that good I wonder if they would "blow up" to 20mm scale with scanner / copier? CarlL who likes 20mm |

Posted on 08 March 2014 at 15:36:46 GMT They are pretty hi-res, I just opened the PDF file and blew it up to 800% and didn't get too much pixelization... |
