Some of the Hovels ruins would allow you to place figures inside. http://www.hovelsltd.co.uk/contents.htm - I think that the intact buildinds are solid castings though.

The "Arnhem" range by Rumford through Raventhorpe - IIRC many of these roofs come off and they have nice interiors: http://www.rlbps.com/RLBPBul.htm

Grand Manner! Wow! They are lovely - come with removeable roofs - but they're 25/28mm and really look it. Their 20mm WW2 range is very very limited. I think Mark is thinking of the Rumford buildings? They're featured in all the "Rapid Fire" rules and supplements.

Thanks guys, wow them Grand manner are nice but priced to match, im starting to think the buildings i see must have been scratch built. im looking at doing a skirmish style games and was looking at 20mm as my eyes are not so good now for painting and found 10mm to small, not sure how much diffrance there is with 15mm and 20mm.

A company named Steel Models has some nice WW2 20 mm stuff. Ruins, pillboxes, Tobruks... It is sold at different online shops.

You know, we have a financial crisis Grin

If you want to go with 28mm I would recommend 4Ground buildings. They are lasercut, prepainted, have removable parts and are very affordable.

Many good ideas above like Grandmannner at http://www.grandmanner.co.uk/ but soem of those mentioned are mainly solid castings.

One of the best 20mm is currently Lancer Miniatures buildings see http://lancerminiatures.com - many buildings part of old Shellhole Scenics range in resin.

Fieldworks used to do some great resin 20mm but stopped producing in this scale - you could contact them to see if any old stock from this range or look out for re-sales on like of bring and buy; mind their 15mm buildings also work in 20mm (well they do for me) and the smaller footprint of 15mm buildings makes them more in scale with game in 20mm, see http://www.fieldworks.org.uk/

for other 15mm and 20mm types see http://www.totalbattleminiatures.com/

for industrial types things see various at Ainsty Castings (sci fi range has some useful bits too even if designed more for 25 and 28mm) at http://www.ainsty-castings.co.uk/

There are also many useful items at http://www.architectsofwar.com

Italeri has a building that would fit well. Italeri 6086 the so called "Berlin House" has multilevels and you can buy additional.
Each level has 4 rooms and a stairway in the center. You can also put troops on the flat roof and can do fightings inside
the building.
They have also two farmhouse there you could easy remove the roof and the floors and can also put troops inside.

Well done Kalle

I forgot about the Italeri stuff - I have some of their Russian farmhouses and the roof on each can be left unglued so it just sits on. Needed a floor adding from card or mdf (I went with thick card). The Berlin House looks great when I have seen it but just a tad expensive.

There are other buildings too, like an Italian building I recall which would be good for campaigns in Sicily and mainland italy or balkans.

Not sure first link worked in your last mail Panzer-Kalle?
(Could be just my pc link didnt work?)

However your post reminded me that I may have mixed up my Italeri with Pegasus when it came to the two Russian 'wooden' houses in one box kit, which is great kit (I have a set all assembled just needed a base I thought so you could add extras - as I did - and could use mdf or thick card or plasticard for base (whatever you have had success with not warping).

Saw the Armourfast kit at Derby Worlds show in October and it looked great, probably more 28mm than 20mm.

here is a link to one of the mdf pre painted buildings (that I saw at ?Derby)

http://www.4ground.co.uk

they do 15mm and 28mm - both could be used with 20mm, probably 15mm would work best in terms of the ground / table foot print.

It's a bit variable depending on manufacturer, personal taste, where you measure to & 'chunkiness' of figure but somewhere between 1/56th & 1/48th ish. But it's an ongoing argument...
