Anyone seen these (or the rivers) "in the flesh"? They look OK on the web site.

Yes .....I have the roads and heartily recommend them!

They are very flexible, cut easily to any shape you want, fit over terrain really well and then when you want them perfectly flat again - just iron them in the reverse side ...and they go back to shape straight away.

My pal has the rivers too.....very very good.

I have seen TSS too ...but don't have them myself. To be fair...I'd guess they are very similar.

I just got my TFS roads and I agree with AJ. They are very good indeed.
If only I could get their river set...bit pricey though.

Just to add to the confusion - I have rubber roads from TBM (Total Battle Miniatures) that I'm very happy with. Got them with discount and free delivery from Maelstrom.
