Hi,

I'm currently building a couple of Bunkers/MG nests for my Japanese and you can see my efforts so far at the link below.
I wanted to create features that look like they could be part part of a cave network as I'm working towards doing a Peleliu game, and these will see use as some of the Japanese positions in the Umurbrogols..
They're on 50mm x 50mm bases and were built from offcuts of styrofoam and cocktail sticks before being covered with filler and textured with sand and cat litter.

I'll add some pix of my completed tanks and more infantry over the next few days..

Feedback & comments most welcome.

Regards
Bob

I managed, in a spare 15 minutes, to paint up the first of the bunkers, and have added a couple of pix to the page.
The ground colour is as per my Japanese infantry & armour bases; English uniform, Green Ochre, Dark sand. The rock face part of the bunker was drybrushed with yellow ochre (artists tube acrylic), follwed by a drybrush of Middlestone and a light drybrush of dark sand.
The wood was done with English uniform and green ochre (I like to keep things simple), with a final light drybrush of Vallejo medium sea grey.
I've also added an image of my first effort at painting 10mm armour, a trio of Type 97 ShinHoTo's. I've already listed the colours used over on my painting Japanese post in the BKC miniatures section of the forum. The tanks are from Pendraken.

Regards
Bob

I've returned to this project after a bit of a hiatus, and am currently messing around trying to make a latex mould of one of these bunkers, with a view to casting up a few in resin.
I'll let you know how I get on....

Those are great looking bunkers - far more interesting than the ones I codged together earlier this year. Grin
