Posted on 28 August 2015 at 19:12:02 GMT Hi everyone, I recently posted on this forum looking for CWC players in the Reading/Berkshire area. One member of this forum (Ghengis Collins) was close and we recently played our first game (hosted at Wargames Association of Reading). I have to say we noticed a lot of interest in CWC at Wargames Association Reading and assume there must be other players out there that are interested in playing CWC. We both came to the conclusion that if someone will champion CWC then other players may well appear out of the woodwork or become interested in playing CWC. So, to that end, I would like to use this forum post as a place where players in the South of England can rally and look for local clubs/players. I am looking to create an ‘address book’ of players and clubs in the South of England that have an interest in CWC. Why? Well to begin with, it will allow players who are interested in playing the game and willing to travel the opportunity to meet up and play a CWC game. Also, some of the larger clubs (such as Reading) sometimes hold open days on a weekend which could be used to host games over weekends when people are more free to travel if required. Finally, it could lead to some tournaments in the South of England – its early days yet but I am happy to run with this and see where it goes. For the purposes of this exercise let’s say ‘the South’ is an area roughly from Bristol in the West to Windsor in the East and from the South coast up to roughly the M4, but anyone that is willing to travel to/within this area should feel free to put their names/locations down. So if you are in ‘The South’ and you are interested in playing CWC then please put the following details in the thread below: Name: (Either forum name or actual, as preference/security dictates). Location: (Be as specific as you are comfortable with). Club Affiliations: (If none, just state ‘none’). Contact details: (As the forum currently has no means of private chat/email, sadly we can only use personal contact details, please keep this to an email address. Armies/scales/era details: (eg, 1/300, 1985 British and Russian). Regards, - Sharpe |
