Posted on 16 August 2010 at 17:04:01 GMT If you are a war-gamer (be it board-games or minis) you may want to join my Houston War Gamers e-mail group-list. It is a private list that I started about 3-4 years ago and has grown to 43 core players from the Houston area.
Here is how it works:
When anyone on the list e-mails me about hosting a particular game (i.e. game title, number of players, location, time, etc.), I forward that e-mail (in BCC format) to the list. No one on the list can see anyone's e-mail address unless the person making the announcement wants to share their address within the announcement itself.
This simple method of announcing game opportunities, among war gamers, seem to be much more effective at getting players to play and more often.
I think it is more effective because of its focused and of singular autonomy (yours truly).
