Hello folks,
A (not that) brief message to let you know about a wargaming club in the North Shields, Balkwell area.
The club is housed at St. Peters Church Hall. Central Avenue.
Easily accessible from the ‘coast road’.

Google Earth location 55º00’33.20”N 1º28’06.86”W

The club has been running for over 20+ years in various locations, it’s not a ‘flash in the pan’!
We have been at our new location for a couple of years now.

The facilities at the club which is in a Church Hall include:

Large fully fitted kitchen, microwave, kettle, cups; the usual stuff you would expect to find in one. – just bring your milk/coffee/chicken ding etc.

1st Aid equipment, for when the discussions get heated

Toilets, both male and female.

Onsite and offsite parking.

A large hall which accommodates a large number of tables.

Secure storage of the clubs scenery etc.

Central heating - useful in the winter!

The club runs on a Sunday between (officially) 12:30 – 19:00 hrs, however this tends to be flexible with the doors closing when we finish gaming!

The club has a good mix of Adults/older teenagers.
Several members are CRB checked, a couple hold a First Aid Certificate of one form or another.

Fees are fixed for members or payable on an ‘as and when you game’ basis. (Under Review)

Periods gamed – In no particular order………

Warhammer
Warhammer 40K
Warhammer 40K Epic
Blood Bowl
Babylon 5 and derivatives

25mm
Ancients/Medieval
Napoleonic’s
AWI

20mm
WW1
World War II
Modern

15mm
Flames of War
Seven Years War
Medieval/Ancients

1/300
Ancients
Napoleonic’s
Modern (CWC)
WWII

Naval – can not remember the scales.

There is enough old (should that be veteran?) players in the club to say that we have probably gamed most periods and scales at some point in time, some of us are hoarders so probably still have the figures also. We are 'game' at having a go at new periods/scales!

Anyone interested in further details, contact Chris or Les - details on the site.

Hope to see you there
