Hi, i recently bought BKC2 and am looking for anyone in or near South Yorkshire who plays the game.

I live in Doncaster so am roughly at the center of the county.

Sachiel,

Hi, I am relatively speaking just up the road from you as I have recently moved to Penistone, near Barnsley.

Unfortunately I only have 1/300 and 20mm figures and models for BKC, so we may not have same scale figures / models? I am lucky enough to have a variety of small to medium forces in 20mm and Germans, Russians and some Brits and Americans for late Europe in 1/300. So could field two sides for a game.

I have played a lot of BKC, and a bit of CWC, in past with friends at Crosby Wargames Group on Merseyside.

I hope to have a table for play from April onwards, (no room at present), as having only recently moved here other things have taken priority.

Unfortunately I have a slipped disc at present so I am not up to travelling but perhaps once this is sorted we could get a game set up?

Hi Sachiel,

a little further afield, but there are stacks of us in Leeds/Harrogate area who play BKC in 15mm.

Well we seem to be a bit scattered, but I live in Chesterfield, close to the M1 corridor. 15mm Brits and 12mm Germans.

well i am working on a 15mm NW Europe British force, nothing finished for it as yet, but soon.

Carl Luxford - sure, as i work for Stagecoach (based at Rawmarsh) I know quite a bit of the area including bits of Barnsley, i'd be happy to set a game up with you when your sorted.

Snafu - Good old Wakey, eh?

Johnboy - interesting, Leeds isn't that far afield Grin

Gunhit in Exile - unfortunatley Chesterfield is too far afield mate.

Well its good to know that there are some choices to get games int he county at least. The main problem i have in Doncaster is our local Games Club is run by an idiot who only allows games that he has heard of to be played, and everyone seems to be obsessed with the local Games Workshop Confused

Ah well...

Sounds like we should all try to meet up some time to organise a game between us? Whatever the scale!? (My 15mm Russian Civil War infantry might double up for BKC 15mm game!)

hi all!

I'm a BKC player in Doncaster, I know of another BKC player in Maltby (20 minutes by car from here) - also plays CWC - and another CWC player in Sheffield.

I have forces in 28 and 6mm, the other BKC guy has 10mm and the Sheffield CWC has 6mm, and will be happy to give you a game - in fact there's a CWC game coming up at Maltby on the 28th...

Nice news to hear, Tinnedstew.
My wifes birthday is 28th Feb so I wont be taking you up on that news. She is very supportive of my gaming but that would be a bit too far a bridge to cross!!
Hopefully catch up with you at Doncaster some time?
Perhaps we should try to all meet up at Triples for a chat and do some planning?
At a future Triples may be we could even put on a BKC or CWC game? Although its such a good show its tempting to leave games play for another time and just enjoy the show whatever scale you play?

Also, we'll be using BKC or, if I can get hold of a copy, BKC II Smile

Hi, we run a small wargames club in Huddersfield (kirklees crusaders) on a monday night, we have a game of BKCII with 3-6 players most nights - obviously would welcome any of you to come down for a look if interested, we have a bit of space if you want to put your own games on.

feel free to PM me to arrange a game, club is located at the visitor centre in beaumont park

TinnedStew,

I shall seek you all out at Triples. Perhaps I should carry a copy of BKC2 around with me that day to make new gaming links!?

I am probably most interested by the eastern front campaigns of WW2. Although I have lots of books on other aspects too. I usually use 20mm or 1/300. But I agree 15mm looks great too. I have yet to see a 10mm game but as I think 6mm looks good then its probably likely that 10mm are a pleasure to the eye too.

carl - if you're at triples there may be some of our chaps there, think they might be supporting the ilkley lads in putting a game on.
We tend to play in 6mm but we have done some games in 15mm before, there's usually a spare command if your interested.

Colhoda,

I shall look your colleagues out at Triples. A spare command would be fun!!

My wife is from Huddersfield and so I have a reasonable knowledge of some parts of Huddersfileld area which is only about 30 to 40minutes drive (or train ride) from my new home in Penistone.

My initial BKC1 games were in 6mm and sometimes I return to this scale for big tank battles. [Then got bug for getting out our old Airfix and like and off we went on 20mm!]

Carl (and anyone else interested)

Not too bad from Penistone - might want to come in via holmfirth, 30 mins drive maybe? Map here:

We probably have a game of either BKC or CWC every other week

Not too far away from Doncaster, a few of us have been playing CWC at Mansfield Wargames Club, meeting at Maelstrom Games on a Tuesday night.

I've purchased BKC and have not gotten around to a game yet though.

Well worth a visit if only to check out Maelstrom Games.

hi Sachiel, Carl et al

Just joined the forum, I have only recently bought BKCII and haven't played it yet, but I have played CWC with Counterpane, who I've seen posting on here.

Working on a few other projects, but I may well end up doing one of the following 6mm Western Desert or Early War Europe. Maybe even both!

I do have some 20mm late war germans and American's that I have been using Disposeable Heroes.

I also will along to Triples at the Weekend.

well that was fun, now have faces for carl and johnboy, and met sancho...

the game went down to about turn 6...

turn 5 iot could have gonme either way - the Sovs lost 2 HQs, the Germs had lost half the panzers, 2/3 of the paks & stugs and were 1 unit off of breakpoint..and then they won the initative and that was pretty much that..

Sovs nearly lost another HQ to Cease Firing, and had their CO achieve a Relocate! on the last turn we played (by which time they'd wiped out all of the Germs on the table)...

Fun though Smile

and we picked up an award (2nd) for the demo game, which was nice...

Hi All

I'm in the Chesterfield area.
I've got BKC II just not had a chance to try out the rules yet.
I'm using 10mm American and Germans at the moment, as well as painting a 10mm British Airbourne battlegroup.

Chris.
