I saw mention of this book on the site Charles Grant and Stuart Asquith's book "Scenarios for all ages" and was wondering is it worth the money to purchase? Are the scenarios really era flexible?

I bought the book based upon a game I played with Keith Flint and another recommendation on the forum. I am happy with the purchase and already have a game of BKC planned using one of the scenarios.

Some of the scenarios do not lend themselves to the 'modern' era, but I am planning on using these for Warmaster Ancients onwards, so not a problem as far as I'm concerned. The book lists 52 scenarios, of which I reckon 30 are easily transferable to the 'modern' era with a bit of thought and tweaking.

I hope this helps?

I've owned the book for about 2 years now and have used a number of the scenarios, mainly for SYW, some for WW2, but as Steve says most can be adapted for various eras. There are even a few scenarios that are only for the modern period (airborne and helicopter scenarios for example).

No book is perfect but I'm still getting inspiration for games from this publication and I refer to it quite frequently. Seems to be around £13 for a new copy: I would say worth the money. Maybe shopping around on the internet you could get it cheaper.

Cheers, Keith

Are there any books out there that do have modern based scenarios?

"Seems to be around £13 for a new copy: I would say worth the money."

So, that is currently about $20 CDN. That makes the $50 CDN (or so) on amazon a little beyond the plae, then. And that doesn't include the shipping.
