Looking for suggestions for reading material regarding US actions 1900-1930. Specifically Smedley Butler if possible. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smedley_Butler

Reading " The Plot to Seize the White House" just served to whet my appetite for more tales of the USMCs actions making the world safe for Standard Oil.

I can't find "Old Gimlet Eye" for less than $50. My limit for a book is $30, and then it would have to be a known spectacular.

THANKS

Have you tried http://www.cgsc.edu/carl/contentdm/home.htm

This link takes you to the US Armies Combined Army Combined Armes Research Library and contains a wealth of on-line material some of which may be relevant to your search.

A quick search using the phrase Standard Oil also produced a bunch of contemporary documents via the Internet Archive at http://www.archive.org/

Has an online copy of Smedley Butler's "War is a Racket" if that's of interest.
