A test game to get used to the guerrilla doctrine and tweak the unit stats.

Nice Alan - great looking table...hideous outcome for the US though eh?!

I think you're right that the Hummers need some firepower - have you seen this?: http://www.blitzkrieg-commander.com/Downloads/P...

"Toning down of the Somali improvised AA fire (they nearly destroyed the the Huey!)"

Not sure about this. After all they did manage to shoot down two Blackhawks that day.

I'd agree with PL on this one - the skinnies had developed some pretty sound tactics against helos by this point - covered in some detail in Bowden's account

I think the humvee units in that list are far to expensive, a truck is 10pts, give it a 2/50 and a 6+ save and it becomes 30pts? I think 20 or 25pts is fairer.

Cost 'em like that then Cool

Or leave at 30 & increase the move? US tactics for these thinds seems to be to drive them pretty-much full-pelt [certainly once contact is made..cf Generation Kill]

"...awesum camo pants!"

Well hey, if you are going to be shot at by somebody they should be well dressed somebodies.Grin

"... probably more than they would normally use in a year when fighting other Somalis..."

Can you blame them? It is probably the first time the grenadiers got to shot at something. Wink

We allowed techinicals with MGs to shot at choppers, but I think we might change it to half dice, luckly \i saved all the hits anyway.

Did the technicals not have .50 cals mounted on them? That is a standard AA MG. I think using full value would be reasonable.

"Did the technicals not have .50 cals mounted on them?" yep - but it's the way they've fixed 'em on that might preclude them from firing a la AA: I've seen pics that show .50 cals welded facing forwards as well as ones that are strapped on with what looks like baler cord & duct tape Grin

That is a nice 1/2 track as well - missed that on first look, but that's pretty coolio too Cool

Ah, yes. I did not consider the mounts they used, probably would have been ad hoc.

Why the shock? With the proper ammount of duct tape and vice-grips, you can take over the world.

What I`d like to know is where they got decent duct-tape. That stuff is rare as gold here in Brazil and the nationally made stuff sucks, peeling off easily in our hot and humid weather where the American-made stuff sticks like it`s supposed to.

I`m presuming that Brazil`s tech base is better than Ethiopia`s, so where did enough duct tape to mount a machinegun come from?

The Somali pirates probably hijacked the duct tape shippment going to Brazil.Wink

Well, if South America is anything like Canada everything is made in either China or Taiwan. So, I would assume the shippment would have to float by Africa at some point.Huh?

Yeah all minifigs, with the exception the the helicopters, for which we're using 6mm ones.

Not sure where they are from but Dave will be able to answer.
