Hello,

played my first CWC game yesterday and my friend and I enjoyed it very much. After re-reading the rules on some topics I saw we made some minor mistakes here and there, most of them carrying out close assault. But most of the rules were clear and we could play pretty straight away.

But I really have difficulties to understand Counter-Fire. Maybe it's just the wording and that it's mentioned under Initiative. Is Counter-Fire just some sort of Opportunity Fire carried out by troops being assaulted? If yes, I don't understand why it is an Initiative Action?

Can anybody make this clear for me? Thanks.

It is not really an "Op-fire" situation. It represents the assaulted unit getting off one or two volleys as the attacker charges up into hand-to-hand range. As the charge is done in the initiative stage, so is the "counter-fire".

So I understand that Counter-Fire is just the special word for the response fire when being assaulted during initiative phase. Thanks.

More Questions re. Counter Fire.

It is more than just the assaulted unit that fires. Units within 10cm of the assaulted unit can counter fire at the assaulting units.

My question is based on the line "Units may use counter-fire against each assaulting unit." This is ambiguous for me.

To clear it up can one unit counter fire at more than one assaulting unit. Or, can a unit counter fire more than once in a single Initiative Phase if there are more than one assaulting units within 10cmQuestionQuestion
