How does cover work against area attacks?
is there cover at all? Or does it count only if there is cover above the unit? How do you measure cover, from the point of impact or from the aircraft?

Cover acts as normal.

I don't think you can claim 'linear cover' (ie for being behing a hedge or wall) vs area/indirect fire!
