Posted on 22 September 2017 at 09:30:43 GMT This has got me puzzled, it's the same wording in bkcI. Having reread it again and again, there's no mention of saving rolls at all, and assuming that simplicity was Petes intention it does look as though it's meant to be: 1. Roll for suppressive hits - normal no of dice but only hit on 6's - there are no saves. 2. For each "hit" (i.e. 6) then roll for supression like normal. So in your example there are no saves, and simply then roll for supression. We tend to use the morale types however for that, hence elite supression on a 6, along with some awful types suppressed on a 3+ Perhaps bizarrely this is better explained in BKCIII (!) In there it points out that there are no saves, but only gives the example of infantry firing at AFVs and so gives a max range of 20cm. It also says that a target is only supressed once, further suppressions have no additional effect. It does not mention guns with no AP attacks firing at soft targets where the 20cm rule is a bit odd! |
