Posted on 20 January 2016 at 04:13:49 GMT Would they? As in, is it part of an American battle plan from the "real" world? Answer - yes. That's pretty much the point of FASCAM: area denial. I doubt it would be hugely effective if fired on a built-up area, since a proportion of the mines could be expected to fall in inaccessible areas like rooftops or such, but they could be dropped on the approaches to the objective to deny or channel the enemy's advance. But if the situation were particualrly dire, and you had pre-plotted artillery sheaves for your mine rounds and needed to keep a vital objective at bay, well... fire away. If it's a question about whether it's "cheap" to allow the US player to use a weapon the Russian can't answer, I think it'd be a matter of how the game was laid out to begin with. If he simply didn't protect his minesweeping units and then had to face a FASCAM attack, well, that's just kind of a tough break. Ruleswise I'm not totally sure - I have to dig out my CWC and check. My instinct is to say that you COULD, but it wouldn't be terribly effective. |
