Greetings, again I go to the brain-trust. Using hidden setup, the rules state that the tokens used to represent the hidden units cannot be targeted. I am wondering how others handle if those hidden units are hit by scheduled artillery?

Do you roll and keep secret track of damage? Or does scheduled artillery not effect hidden units?

I keep track of the damage. The wording of the third paragraph is for requesting artillery or air strikes not scheduled fire.

Surely they can't be hit?

The token represents the HQ and then all the units under it's command are placed within 20cm when revealed. The arty zone is only 10cm radius, hence all of these units (bar perhaps the HQ itself) can be outside the arty zone - hence never hit! In the RAW the only thing that could be affected is the token - the HQ itself (assuming it's not a dummy token). I'd secretly record any damage against a real HQ.

I queried this long ago, and Pete's response was that the hidden rules were intended for guerrilla vs regular armies only (Vietnam etc) and not for my Arab Israeli games. So it was never really resolved.

Never really resolved, but some sound ideas there.
