Hy everyone, once again a little question, if anyone care to answer that would be much appreciated.

Is this statement true "units unboarding an helicopter during an air assault can trigger opportunity fire" ?

Thanks in advance for the answer !

Ooooh yes indeedy - but if the Syrian arty has suppressed all the Israeli infantry first then they can't! Wink

Found that one out the hard way! Sad

Dave - in the real world that air assault aint going in if there is artillery fire in the area. It's why the US used chopper gunships in Vietnam. Arty is very dangerous to low flying aircraft

Thanks you all guys, unfortunately I do realize my question was not totally explicit considering what I wanted to ask...

What I wanted to say was : units can trigger opportunity fire by the only fact that they are unboarding an helicopter -they did not receive an order to do anything else-

Did you understand my question like that Pete ?

Yes, I taught the lesson to my French opponent the hard way too regarding an artillery / helicopter combination on the objective...

Ian - the arty was some distance from the LZ, certainly no "overlap" - but I take your point!
