Sorry if this is newb question.

HQs and COs have more movement than infantry which implies they are mounted in some form of vehicle rather than on foot - which I guess you just model on the base and all is fine. Commanders move around issuing orders and calling for artillery etc. Fine.

How do you handle it if the HQ is mounted in an IFV or stryker for instance? Or is an HQ tank? Do you just pretend that the tank's offensive capability is taken into account when calculating fire from the units inder its command?

Or have I misunderstood the rules?

CO/HQ representation is very abstract, it matters not what is shown on the base, stats are the same. It could be a few figures with or without any kind of vehicle or a command tent etc the possibilities are endless. There is an optional rule in BKC for Commanders where a tank can be given the command functions of an HQ whilst retaining the vehicles stats but not sure it that is included in CWC too.

Think of the command stand as being a focus for logistics and communication rather than as a 'proper' fighting stand; they don't shoot people, they just command troops!

There are some optional rules for commanders as fighting stands though, in BKC-II IIRC that might be of interest to you.

Thanks that's what I assumed, it just seemed a bit weird that a Tank HQ would probably be rolling around in a tank itself but not have any firepower themselves.

Might have to get BKCII rules then...
