Firstly, what happens if an unlucky Airborne unit lands in an unmarked minefield? How do you determine attacks against them?

Secondly, if, when determining deviation, the final landing point ends up in a wooded area (high area terrain), are there any game consequences?

G. this is a suiggested house rule, but should work....

Roll the landing blunder as normal, but add a modifyer for terrain. As a guess make it +2 for light woods, +4 for heavy woods, and + 6 for BUA. Water eliminates the unfortuneate unit.

for the troops landing in a mine field just treat as any unit passing through a mine field, but have one attack on landing. if i remember corectly its 1 attack/cm moved,no saves hit on 4+.
not sure about the woods, probably as ian suggests. remember you deploy from the hq using the 20cm template so not all units would end up in the woods, unless its a big wood.

Hi Ian, the answer is dont land airborne too close to woods etc. for the soviets land them safely and move them onto the target in their bmds, mobility is the key. Para landings are more predictable, max 2d6 deviation, than helo insetions as deviation has to measured from the Co or base table edge if no CO on the table. this can result in units being scattered over the table. They are also open to AA/ground fire as they go in. I'am sure Richard C will read this in due course SmileWink

I know - you can use choppers as an asset though.
