So in going through CO and HQ I see the bit about dismounting infantry from APCs, but I don't see an HQ infantry dismounting with them. HQ infantry makes sense since once the APC move on who commands the ground troops? The same would go for air bourne or air assault. It is possible I just missed it or it is so obvious that it doesn't need to be mentioned.

You move the HQs afterwards at the end of the command phase.

COs&HQs are not combat troops in that sense, the stand just represents them. You can but anything you like on it and it changes nothing. Its just a representation of a whole bundle of differant things like comms and AA etc.

Got it...I have officers...any good site for Cold War and Modern era radio/comms dudes to stand besides them at 6mm?

GHQ has some Comms minis with their sets of infantry.

Use any figure with a pack, and add an antenna. H&R also do several kneeling figures as well.
