Hi

Using the reserves rules you can bring 3 stands onto table from your reserve pool each turn.

I just wondered - if the 'stand' in question was a transport/APC/MICV could it bring its infantry component too?

If so could an APC carry two infantry stands onto table, possibly deploying 9 stands in one turn??

We’ve had this one before though I can’t find the thread (it may have been so old that it’s fallen off the forum). The answer was that transport and transported each counted separately towards the allowed number of reinforcements i.e. no, you can’t bring on a total of nine.

Nice try… Wink

I didn't try that honest! Lol!

It just seems odd to get a company of MBTs but only part of a company of Mot or Mech inf!

"Odd" is not the correct adjective, it should be "unrealistic", and your example demonstrates this quite clearly.

If I have a unit (company, platoon or battalion) in reserve I would expect to be able to introduce it to the battle as such.

If it is transported infantry, mech or otherwise, why wouldn't they come in together as trained and organized?

This is why armies train and organize.

Seems like a silly rule to me.

I know this topic was a long time ago in a galaxy far far away but was there a definitive answer to the transport/Infantry question. I would think the best way to play it would be that the infantry stands have to arrive mounted. But it still leaves the question of the number of units or would you play 1 APC and 2 Infantry stands would be the three units.

Cheers
