Finally finished a few bits and pieces to add to my Belgians:

On the artillery command stand I had a stab at making an M108 VBCL. OK but the next attempts should be better.

Still a good few more bits to do!

Nice

Are the SP Guns for on-table use? Or Off-table assets?

Technically I suppose they Will be off table but i'll still use the models to represent them. And One day I will play on a big enough table to have them ON table!

Hi Andy,

They look nice. What did you base the VBCL on? It looks pretty good. I do the same with artillery - make up units for them even if they are to be off-table. At my old club, if you didn't have the toy, you couldn't use it, whether off-table or on, so it has become a bit of a habit. Smile

I've got the same thing ... I originally bought loads of artillery pieces as (way back) the club I played at had the same policy ... but making them up into actual formations with HQs is a nice idea (when I have the time!).

Some of the SP guns were actually attached directly to forward fighting formations - such as the 105mm guns (Abbots) or 155m (M109s - for the Dutch) so it might be an idea to play them on-table more often.

The VBCL is based on the M992 FAASV command from Scotia. Think it's an M109 chassis?

Yep indeed, VBCL & FAASV are both M109 chassis I think. It looks good.

I'm especially adding some of my Soviet SPGs in to units as their (for some types at least) doctrine was to run in close behind the leading armour and provide direct HE support. Bad mastards! Cool

Really nice force! I especially like the way you added the tank tracks to the base, that's a really nice touch. I'm going to do that myself as soon as my shipment from GHQ arrives and I start painting. Grin

Cheers for the nice comments. I nicked the tracks idea from Mr Graham! Smile It does add to the bases though. I've got a lot to go back and add them to though!

Great looking force. They should do the job in keeping back the red horde.

Cheers, Andy
