Following most helpful comments from the denizens of this here forum I have finally made a start on some stuff! I had based up a few Challengers ages ago. I bought them painted but added some weathering and based up. The contrast of the green and black is not good and the varnish seems to have made that worse but on the table they will be fine. The HQ is from a different batch. Green maybe a little too brown but fine and I ain't stripping them!

I also traded for a lot of Belgians ages ago but figured the infantry would be fine for reserve units. They started like this:

Having painted some M75s to go with them they now look like this:

I still have a few more bits to do for the unit and the HQ. Bits arriving from Scotia on Friday I hope!

I'm thinking of doing my Brit IFVs/APCs on 30x20mm bases. The 40s give more space for scenics but I wonder if having a more visual ID on vehicle type helps.

And I know I could do another HQ for the Challies but I'm still trying to come up with a way of representing the extra NATO flexibility without having lots of HQ bases around...

Cheers all. It's nice to get things moving again.

I reckon I can do another reserve unit in M113s and another lot of Leos and then a few support bits and my Belgians are done.

Still not sure over using 30x20s for IFVs etc. for my Brits...

I've got all my Dutch APCs & IFVs on 30 x 20 but with the 30mm as frontage. That way my dismounts fit in front neatly.

These Belgians certainly look the business - most inspiring - now I must get on & paint stuff instead of converting more of it !!! Grin
