Could those 3mm modellers out there suggest what to use for roads?

I paint mine on artists' canvases and flock the margins. I cut them out and them pin them to the rest of the terrain. You can see the entire system here:

Cork sheet of 1 or 2 mm thickness.
I painted one side rural road, the backside asphalt road.

Anything thin and flexible, really. I used ribbons, too, and also strips of thin cheese-cloth, painted gray.

Maybe cut roads out from thin black rubber sheet?
Not something I have tried, just a thought......

I'm personally into GHQ Terrainmaker hexes. It's a little bit of a hassle making all the pieces in limited apartment space, but they are great fro 3mm scale. With them I just cut them into the hex and paint them grey-brown.
