Posted on 28 January 2013 at 15:23:44 GMT Very pretty. Yes indeed. Also, a great example of one of the selling points of 3mm: it makes it possible to do odd or one-off projects. I've never seen a Turkish unit painted up before for moderns, not even in 6mm. I'm guessing this took you about 40 dollars and you now have enough figs left over to do an entire brigade at 1 stand = 1 platoon. Compare that to a 10mm Flames of War mech infantry platoon at - what? - 60 USD...? |

Posted on 28 January 2013 at 20:11:58 GMT My mate in Uni had Turks, back in '92. Bloody tough troops, even if their gear was second tier. Mind, as our Sov gear for the front was distinctly third tier it wasn't much of a disadvantage |

Posted on 29 January 2013 at 15:48:36 GMT Cor, I'm convinced any of us even owned a camera back then! I can dig my M48's, some rifle armed US helemted infantry & some M113's out the loft on the weekend if you want a pic of them as proxies |

Posted on 29 January 2013 at 18:58:34 GMT sultanbeys Mikromark TOE-lists are a great help for projects like this. He offers armylists of Turkish plain Inf, mech Inf, armored brigades, army support, special forces and Cyprus forces. Amazing! For more infantry stands I want to use US Vietnam forces. The US helmets are right, which are the most visible feature of 3mm minis. My shedule is 1000+ armypoints every 6 week, so stay tuned for updates to come! |

Posted on 23 February 2013 at 01:25:20 GMT Oh, those are top notch, Noge. Just brilliant what you did there. I like the almost neon outlining, the sparse basing... I bet they just look killer on the table top. This pic shows that off much better than the previous ones. UYou should do a tutorial. This is a classic example of the painting techniques I'm talking about all the time! |

Posted on 03 March 2013 at 18:42:37 GMT I would do a tut, but I have no blog to post it (and here are no images to see). But if one of our fellow users is interested and would be so kind to give me some webspace in his blog - it would be a pleasure for me to add a tut. Meanwhile: http://www.abload.de/image.php?img=img0052icsdi... Next 1000+ points together. Regulars (with LAW ), FAC (M113), M113 of the grunts, Leo-1 platoons, at the rear line M150 (TOW on M113), a Bofors and a HQ. |

Posted on 03 March 2013 at 23:56:14 GMT Write it and I'1l add it to my blog, Noge. There's a lot of interest out there about how to paint and base 3mm these days and you're doing such a bang-up job of it, it'd be a shame not to share it. |

A platoon of engeneers (with M113), Co, Stinger platoon (with trucks), a coy infantry (with M113) an armored recce coy with M48 (105mm). Total more than 4000 points of Turkish troops. Half of a modern Mech.Inf.Brigade. "Family photo" to follow. |

Posted on 25 April 2013 at 00:49:39 GMT They look cracking again. Really like the blank strip on the back - you adding stats or just unit designations for ease of play? |

Posted on 25 April 2013 at 14:20:35 GMT Just unit designations. Also thinking to colour code some labels for easy recognition of different kind of infantry units (regular/elite/engineer) or tank subtypes etc. No stats. Murphys law - if I add current stats, Pete will immediatly finish CWC II rules and render my stats obsolete... |

Posted on 28 April 2013 at 13:37:39 GMT Repainted my terrain mat. Size is 75x60 cm: http://abload.de/img/img0078gss76.jpg Added a few bases and terrain pieces just for show. A Turkish armored cavalry troop with its Pattons to the left tries to fight a coy of Russian T-90s at the hill to the right. Good luck with that Co is bringing up the M150 TOW carriers, but it is questionable if they are able to turn the tide in favor of the Turkish troops... Posted on 30 April 2013 at 18:03:02 GMT Ready! This is half of a recent Turkish Mech Brigade: On parade ground: http://abload.de/img/img0082qlu5i.jpg Aerial view: http://abload.de/img/img0083q9uoq.jpg Front: HQs, FAC, CO, recce coy, HQ Left: 2 (of 3) coys of Armored Cav squadron (Armored recce, M48 105mm), 1 1/2 (of 3) tank coys (Leo 1A5) Center: Stinger and engeneer troop (1 of 2 each), Milan ATGW platoons, M150 TOW Coy Right: the poor bloody infantry with its tin buckets, a full battalion of Back: arty with FAO, M110, special ammo, M101 battery, Bofors AAA There are IRL no M577 command vehicles in the Turkish army. The arty had to be proxed somehow because there are no proper 3mm minis of M44 or M52 spgs. MLRS are lacking. The bridgelaying tanks too. Anything else is here and shown with the correct miniatures If I add some AIFV and M60 I am able to play it as a Turkish Armored Brigade too Enjoy! |
