I need to construct three of the above for a Swedish battlegroup for next year's Arctic Strike game.

The gun is a short-barrelled howitzer on a cruciform mount with the wheels raised in front of the pivot point. I suspect a conversion of the Soviet D30 122mm howitzer and an 88mm Flak 18 mount might be the way to go.

Has anyone done this previously? Any ideas?

Looking at pictures I think you are right in going with the D30 and the 88mm mount.

Now what to do with the spare 88s?

Can you not just use the D30, bend on leg to a different angle and glue a piece of scrap/tooth pick/wire down as a fourth leg?

The D30s I have are cast on a base so no, that wouldn't work. I could scratch-build the cruciform mounts but buying three FlaK18s isn't going to break the bank.

Ah, fair enough. I'm sure I had some D30's that were unbased, which made me think of it - might have been H&R?

I guess you could use the '88s in 'static defense' bunker/revetment sort of scratch builds, or use for adding to some massive units in FWC if you play that!

Richard - Soctia D30's come in two bits. So does the M1 155mm from H&R, swap over the weapons ?
