15 x 20 mm for single tanks. 15 x 15 for mecha.

I'd be tempted by using standard base sizes & more troops, try and get a one for one model to man ratio Smile

I'm successfully resisting moving into 3mm scale ATM though, so my view may not carry much weight!

I usually do 40mmX20mm with a platoon (3-4) tanks on it.

I try to have different base sizes for each type of unit.

For infantry, it's 20 x 15, but turned around. Artillery have slightly wider bases. Recon bases are triangular... That sort of thing.

This is necessary to help aid instant identification at 3mm.

You can see one army I did in this format here...

I just cut in half the sizes given at the rulebook. Infantry is 15x25 mm, tanks 25x15 mm, ari got slightly larger bases dur to size of the minis, i.e. 25x20 mm. Support 20x20 square bases to for better identification. Co 30 mm diameter roundbase, HQ 25 mm round, FAO and FAC 20 mm round. I also prefer to have a label at every base with unit type, number and the colours of its nation to avoid confusion during the game.
