Posted on 02 September 2010 at 17:33:08 GMT I was browsing at a local model shop yesterday and managed to find a 1/700 scale water line model of the Japanese Ohsumi class LST (actually a small LHD by US Navy definition) for $10. I grabbed it because it was really close to my OO stuff in scale (1/600) and it was a very nice price. The ship is fine, but I have no Japanese 1/600 available to use with it. So the plan with the ship is to maybe use it as a proxy for a US LHD. The best part of the model is that it comes with 4 LCAC and 2 Sea Knight helicopters. I've been holding off ordering my LCAC for my USMC MEU until I had the rest done, but I could not resist the price. So if anyone is looking for a cheap source of LCAC for their moderns, grabbing one of these models may serve you well! The paint is drying, so I will take a couple pics when I get a chance. |
