I´m anxiously waiting for the mail to deliver my copy of CWC I bought last week from the UK. Then I´ll have to start collecting some small BG:s in 6mm. Ca 1989 Finns vs. the Soviets, anybody? GHQ minis are well presented with pics at the web, but I can´t seem to find Skytrex or H&R pics anywhere. I´d like to see them unpainted if possible. I know GHQ "may" be the best, but I´d like to have some MTU:s and KMT:s too that they don´t do at all... So anybody got good links to a FIHS with pics of them?(or PM vppelt68-at-yahoo.com)

Dont forget Scotia. GHQ much overhyped, and sell in silly sized packets.

Thanks, I´ll check that out. You´re so right Ian, who needs 5 ACRV:s?

GHQ will sell individual models/turrets/hulls/MG/weapon sprues etc if you ask, this is an extract from their Q & A page:

http://www.ghqmodels.com/pages/military/faq.asp

"Q. Do you sell spare parts?

A. For most of the Micro Armour® vehicles (those that are sold 5 to a pack) spare hulls are $2.00 each, spare turrets/guns are $1.25 each, and spare MG sprues are $1.75 each, plus shipping and handling. When ordering spare parts, please be sure to include the GHQ stock number of the pack that the parts come from, and give a description of the parts. We do our best to fill spare parts orders correctly, but spare parts orders are not returnable. "

Their service is also second to none.

Andy T (very satisfied GHQ customer!)

V-P - I do - with 1-1 rules - 1 per battery and 2 for air liason.

The silliest is the Sherman Firefly squadron, ratio of 75 to Firefly is ok, but the 2 spare vehicles are a jeep and QLT, should be two dingos.

I do like our splinter camo, too, but... I started reading Red Storm Rising umpteenth time last night and there is no way I can resist a GSFG BG. Yes, me too... Anyway, I´ll have to play with counters first Huh? so that gives me some time to think what to get.

For a Red Storm Rising scenario I would suggest a BG from one of the two Soviet Independent/Separate Army Corps(OAK, abbreviation of Otdelniy Armeiskiy Korpus, in Soviet parlance). They were true combined arms formations and each of them was intended to serve as the operational manoeuvre group for the respective theatre of operation upon breakthrough (I believe the 5th OAK was the one for Western Europe).

I can't think of a Soviet force which might have met as diverse a range of combat objectives and scenarios as the OAK in the World War that never happened. I believe 1989 would be the last year of their existance, actually.

I can help with some of the orgs, if you'd like, or leave it up tp Mark, who, I'm sure, could oblige with his materials.

Eric.
