Oddzial Osmy have just released some Swedish stuff in 1:600, opening up the Arctic Front on my wargames table!Grin

This should provide some interesting fights - different equipment, very different climate and terrain. A good opportunity to get out my Soviet Airborne and Marine units too...

cheers,

bish

Does anyone of you is using O8 stuff? I've got plenty of their WW2 Germans and Russians, some Africa British forces, quite lot of modern US Forces, small amount of Soviet Airborne forces, plenty of US Iraq invasion forces with Iraqi forces and right now I'm doing US Vietnam (which I have some of them already) and want to start NVA/VC. But my priority right now is Soviet mechanized battalion on BTR-60's with divisional assets to Modern Spearhead.

Anyway I was wondering if someone is building army with O8 stuff, and if so could you show your minis?

Cheers

I've no idea Kalle, I live in Lodz where the O8 is, not in Warsaw where the Wargamer is Smile Besides that I see that they don't have other stuff too. I think they didn't update their resources, and my personal opinion is that they are much more interested with their own rule system and figures - Ogniem i Mieczem (By Fire and Sword), rather than other manufacturers products. Write to them and ask them why they don't have a new stuff, or try on their eBay auctions - sosna1 is the nick of the owner of the Wargamer.pl .

Thomas, I just built the Italian Ariete Division in a one stand = one company scale. Pictures of it are up at my site right now:

There's also pictures of North African DAK and Brits there.

I am a HUGE fan of o8 and will be buying the new Swedes for my CWC imaginary nations campaign.

I saw your stuff - it's great! I love the stand markers. Great idea, maybe I'll steal it and make my own Wink

Feel free. I'm stealing your palm tree and building ideas, so it's only fair.

Like those palm trees! Just ordered a couple of bags of Swedes from my dealer (PicoArmor) - hopefully we see the CV 90 come out as well.

Hi guys

I think it's a time to share photos of my Vietnam forces. For now they're only US Forces, because I'm doing some other things in 3mm, not only Vietnam. As you can see on the photos some of the minis required some base composition, and M41 Walker Bulldogs need to be finish. Windows in the helicopter are not so bright as they look on photos. The whole album you can see on my photobucket account, here:

Any comments and suggestions are most welcome Smile

Those are excellent...I don't like the laying down infantry that OO makes for most nations, maybe I can get away with using the Vietnam infantry for my other stuff.

Your helos are especially nice, I really like the paint jobs on those.

You can easily get away with it, MP. I use WWII russians for all my WWII needs.

So you wont be relying on conscientious objectors to defend Sweden then? WinkSillyWink

Hi

I create a new album on photobucket:

http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh295/trogow...

You can see there some Black Hawk Down markers, and my US stuff.

Sigh.

Every time I tink my 1/600 stuff looks good, all I have to do is cruise over to Thomas' website and have my ego punctured.

That "Blackhawk Down" stuff is so good, you could've said it was 10mm and I wouldn't have noticed, Thomas.

You Poles definitely set the bar fo 3mm painting!

Anyone know what the release schedule is like for Oddzial Osmy? Certainly would like to know how much they will be expanding the Israeli's and also the German WW2 seems to be lacking a/t guns and artillery.

It's hard to tell Adrian. I know O8 personally and even I don't know what they will release in next month Smile But you can be sure that Pak40 and some other israeli stuff will be for certain; same for arty.

I am toying with the idea of either collecting 6mm or 3mm. The only company really supporting 6mm gaming for WW2 and moderns is GHQ. Now I know they are lovely models but using multiple vehicles per base will make any collection rather expensive. So, if I know O8 will be supporting and expanding to a full range I may well swing towards 1/600th.

1/600 is it for me. Significantly cheaper than 6mm, too.

They will support and expand their both ranges for sure. Besides that you don't need to use multiple vehicle basing. We are using 2x2cm bases for all our games. Yes, I know, it might be quite odd, but doing that we can play many other system like Modern Spearhead for example. It doesn't matter how many vehicles you have per base. If you and your opponent agree that one vehicle on base is in one game one vehicle and in other game a full squad/platoon/company then there is no problem Smile

Cheers
