It looks ok judging by photos I've seen! Probably a good match for the rainy season but a bit dark for dry season.

Maybe you could try another drybrush of 'Bleached bone' to lighten it up a bit?

Yep - I'd agree with julesav - a touch of BB would just 'lift' it a touch...

Lifted the tone from red to slightly orange...which is what I was after Grin

Having lived in similar climates in Brazil, I'd say it looks just fine. Laterite soil like that is shockingly reddish-orange. If it looks too garish, you're probably doing it right.
