Evening all,
I just received my 1/600 US and North Vietnamese armies from Picoarmor in the US.
I have to say that I am impressed. Ordered on Dec. 5th, shipped out on the same day and I got the package on Dec. 10th...now, that's what I call an excellent service!!!.
The minis are awesome for such a small scale. The level of detail is amazing...I mean, there is even a door-gunner in the Hueys...and I have 20 of them...I can already hear the Walkyries...
Now about the painting...before I spend a couple of hours looking for info...can anyone tell me the colour of US and NVA vehicles and helos in Vietnam?

Thank you and pics will follow shortly!
And as Kilgore so wisely said: "Charlie don't surf!!!"

'Nother Picoarmor story: John got my new order to me OVERNIGHT. In a snow storm.

Now THAT'S fast service.

I'm waiting on my Vietnam stuff (just ordered). I didn't even know it was coming out until the announcement on the 3mm forum day before last.Sad

But I know now, and I must say I'm excited about a new "period" in 3mm. Can't wait to see what O8 have done with the Vietnamese Infantry and US Grunts...Smile

cheers,

As someone who adores these 1/600, I'm uncertain how you'd tackle Vietnam. Perhaps I'd prejudicing Vietnam as being all jungle but ultimately Vietnam was largely an infantry war, right? Until I can figure out how to fit an entire infantry platoon on one base without going 5cm square bases (well, by splitting it into two platoons on two bases, but dilutes the pleasure of going 1:1) I feel these wonderful models are best for armoured conflicts. I'd be interested to know what you guys are planning.

I thought CWC was supposed to be a platoon-stand based game? Anyway, I *do* mount a whole platoon of 1:600 Infantry (normally 25-30 models) on a 50x50mm base : ) So I'm ok.

To me, this is a realistic frontage and depth for Infantry, even in close-country like Vietnam. I'm looking forward to branching into a new conflict, doing some research on battles and seeing what challenges the jungles, villages and paddy-fields throw up (as compared to the open armour-dominated operations and terrain of the Middle East and Cold-War Europe.

I can also see lots of Helicopters. And maybe even some Riverine craft...Grin
